CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

In my first two years as student of architecture in the faculty of architecture and urbanism (FAU), I have seen things that I don’t liked because the price of tariff Is very high to receive a faculty like FAU. One of the most important to me is the actual state of the faculty, his infrastructure left so much to wish, for example the access to people with disability, we don’t have ramps and elevator so for these students is very difficult move here, that is very embarrassing to an architecture faculty.

 Other case are the spaces to work, to a student of architecture, design or geography is very common work in a computer but in FAU the connection to electricity sometimes is very difficult because some classrooms don’t have sufficient plugs. The calefaction have the same problem, in winter the classrooms are very cold and in summer is very warm.

One of the important aspects of the infrastructure in a life of student are the spaces to distraction, in those areas we can socialize and distract of our responsibilities for a short time, but is necessary to improve the cafeteria, “pircas” and the vegetable garden because sometimes that spaces don’t responding to capacity and in visual aspect are very ugly.

For last, I thing that the career consume a lot of time because the demand in some subjects is very high, and that can result very frustrating to the student because a lot don’t have time to realize activities of a normal life, for example practice any sport or hobbies.

Personal Opinions

What is your opinion about “barras bravas” (hooligans)?

I like the soccer and the show but the last years the “barras bravas” has win relevance for the violence and in some cases, we finish talk about them and not about the soccer. I think is an important problem especially in Latin America, because is recurrent see in the news injured or death people, so we need as a society to ask for laws that toughen the penalties for those who do harm in sporting events.

 

What is your opinion about recycling?

The recycling is the answer if the humanity want live for more time, that is simple. To achieve that we need the conscience of the great industries because they are the principal responsible of produce millions of polluting waste. Save the environment is work off all, but if the industries and governments don’t cooper the human race will disappear.

What is your opinion about televisión?

The television is one of the most important media of communication of the last years, but I critic the Chilean television because I think that the content in my opinion is more bad , some programs educate and inform to the people but the majority of program don’t contribute to the Chilean society for example, tarot, the personal life of celebrities, and news that don’t interest to nobody.

What is your opinion about the US, Chilean, Argentine, and Brazilian far right governments and how they will impact our neighboring countries?

First I don’t think that actual chilean government is of far right like in Brazil or US and I do not consider myself right, I feel more comfortable in the center left and is for that  I have a critical vision, I blame the same left as responsible for the people's preference for those governments, because people have grown tired of some populist ideas and it's obvious they're going to want something different, even when they don't see the negative effects they bring.

My favorite series and movies!

Hi!! Today I am going to talk of my likes about series and movies, I should say that last time I haven’t see much movies because free time to me is few but I will talk about series and movies that I recommend. First, is important you should know that I like movies or series of drama, action, comedy in general so if you're looking for romantic series, you're in the wrong place.

My favorite movie is “The Gladiator” a movie directed by Ridley Scott and winner of Oscar to best movie in 2001. I remember the first time that I see the movie was with my father and I liked so much, but when I was growing up I understood better. The movie is in a historic context of the romans and tell the history of Maximo, a general roman that is betrayed for Comodo the new imperator and who killed his family. I will not give spoilers, but the movie is about the vengeance of Maximo who don’t have nothing versus the imperator. Other movies that I recommend are Scott Pilgrim vs the world, Slumdog Millionaire, Supercool and Project X. 

About series, my favorite is Vikings because was the first I saw in Netflix and I love it. Today it has five seasons but I've only seen up to the fourth, the series is based in the Viking mythology and have much battles and kills, It tell the history of Ragnar Lodbrok and his exploits. Other series that I recommend are Stranger Things, Dark, Narcos and Braking Bad.  

Postgraduate studies.

Talking about a postgraduate degree now is difficult because first I want to finish my career that is already difficult and then have a time to calmly analyze my options but doing the exercise of dreaming I would be interested in continuing studying because the world of work is highly competitive and to reach certain positions you have to be different from the rest.

 In the world of architecture, which I am currently studying, I am interested in postgraduate degrees in sustainable architecture and landscaping, I feel that they have something in common and is to achieve a better connection of the natural environment with the built space. In addition, I think that putting emphasis on issues such as the optimization of natural resources and care of the environment will take on greater importance in the long and short term, since as a society we are increasingly concerned about that, this would mean new job opportunities and new experiences related to a topic that I find very interesting.

I still have a lot left but that type of postgraduate call my attention now but maybe in the future my interests change and I end up choosing another postgraduate, or I don't do it, maybe I even win the lottery and it is not necessary to do any of that haha.

My opinion and experience in photography :)

The photography is an area that I like because today everyone can practice and take every type of photos and give them a significance for example, of our families, travels or experience. In our society we live in a “photography world” because the role of applications as Instagram, Facebook, VSCO, etc. are very important in social relations, in these virtual places you can public a photo and have impact in some people very easy. The possibilities to capture moments today is amazing, the technology advance fast and is for that reason anyone can take photos underwater or pics of high-quality from cellphones.

My experience about the photography started when I was 14 years old with my first cellphone, is for that the photos I took are of bad quality, I remember take pics of me riding my bike and of my skills playing Play Station 2. In 2016 I bought a reflex camera, the Canon EOS Rebel T1, with this camera took pics of my vacations, and my explorer experiences. I recognize I didn't get the best out of the camera and for my not use I sold it earlier this year. In the future I expect buy a good camera, but I will put my focus in learn more of photography and use that to take architecture pics.

My future job

Like architecture student, when ask me, what is your future and ideal job? The answer should be an architect designer of a great office but to reply that question I will put focus in my children´s recollections and interests.

When I was kid I had a great connection with the world of sports and that always produce interest to me. Is for that reason one of my dreams is create a sport centre, where people can practice sports like swimming, soccer, tennis, volley, etc. It is an ambitious project but I like that, not only in 

administrative topic is fate an opportunity to be a children again. I wish also have schools in the centre to kids, where they can practice and learn not only of sports, also they can have new friends and new opportunities, in a country whit high percent of childhood obesity is important motivate them.

I hope in one point of my life take a chance on that entrepreneurship because I don’t know if I want work in an office watching a computer all my life. I like what I study and of course I want be architect but I think that is example how I can connect my career with my dreams and likes.

why the Simpsons?

The Simpsons are a typical tv show to see on weekends for me, I watch the serie since when I was 10 years old and was the center of the laughts and topic of conversation with my classmates.

Sometimes  I ask to my self why the serie produces a great impact on people of many generations, for example in my father or my nephews, and the only answer that I have is the globalization, that afect the culture pop of many countries, between these Chile. I think how the chilean families are reflected in springfield characters? Because Chilean society increasingly has the same critics, characteristics or concerns that appear in the series. Apart of this, the tv channels have exploited the series so that most of us relate to characters like Lisa, Homer, Bart or Marge.

Putting all that aside, I like the serie and one of my favorite chapters is when Bart sell his soul, he said to his friend Milhouse that the soul is a lie, Milhouse reply “All religions have a soul, why would they lie?”, after that the scene changes with the priest counting money.
